    Restaurant Information
Maharaja  Tip: Cool down after a hot curry with the kulfi ice cream it's absolutely delicious. A well-established, traditional North Indian restaurant. There is Indian art on the walls and a cosy ambiance. Mama Tembo's Café  Tip: Pap finely ground cornmeal is a South African speciality. A shebeen (local tavern) in the heart of the northern suburbs. Famous for its pap, ribs and steaks. Moyo Melrose Arch  Tip: The bar is fantastic be sure to have a cocktail here before dinner. The Melrose Arch branch of this popular restaurant seats 500 over five floors. Authentic north and west African food in a buzzy atmosphere. Parreirinha  Tip: The seafood is particularly rated here. This traditional and down-to-earth Portuguese restaurant has been run by the Da Cunha family since 1975. It's well worth a visit. The Local Grill  Tip: For something other than steak try the grilled Falklands calamari prepared with sweet chilli jam and creamed lemon butter. This relaxed, family friendly restaurant is famous for its fine grain-fed, free-range beef. Wombles  Tip: The restaurant has a log fireplace, perfect in winter. Wombles has been known for its giant gourmet steaks since 1984. Greensleeves  Tip: Go with a crowd of friends and enjoy the novelty factor. This themed restaurant recreates Elizabethan feasting in a castle chamber. Eat old-English dishes, accompanied by a goblet of honeymead. Nice on 4th  Tip: You can have a late, late breakfast it's served till 3pm. This trendy café in the quaint suburb of Parkhurst does great egg-and-bacon breakfasts and tasty sandwiches. The Cradle Restaurant  Tip: Drop in for cocktails while the sun is going down it's a spectacular sight. Located in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, this restaurant has superb views from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Atrium Bar  The Atrium Bar is where Johannesburg locals and visitors alike come to see and be seen. Chic, vibrant and coolly elegant, the bar is a popular stopping-off point for shoppers, sightseers and the after-work crowd. Smooth jazz fills the room.
